The Power of Food as a Gift

Food is one of the most intimate gifts you can give someone because of the way it enters the body and touches all of our senses.

We can play someone music- but it will only enter their ears

We can give someone a painting- but it will only please their eyes

We can gift a sweater- but it remains on the surface of the skin

Food however, infiltrates the entire brain, body, and heart.

Food first enters the mouth, where it has the option to be accepted or rejected. Parts of the brain responsible for survival & pleasure are immediately activated. The receiver uses their intricate sense of taste to decipher what has been given.

Once they hopefully accept, it must be chewed, processed, analyzed and deliberated. The sensations of crunch, cold, hot, or creamy are gifted to the mouth.

Swallowing becomes the grand entry into the amazing digestive system which will turn food into energy, vitality, bones, hair, muscle and skin.

Every cell in the body responds to the bath of nutrients this food has created.

When you give food to someone else it literally becomes a part of them, adding to their skeleton and being expressed as energy through movement.

What a sacred process!

No wonder they say the way to a man or woman’s heart is through the soul!
